I'm sorry, but this author has clearly never touched a horse (excuse me, an Ash'va) in their life. A character estimates 2 days to ride 200 miles?? Galloping at full speed (30 mph) for a significant portion of the ride, and carrying two people AND supplies?? The average horse can travel 25-30 miles in a day, and approximately 0% of that should be spent galloping, because the horse will tire itself out in 1-2 MILES.
