I’m crying, because of course I’m crying lmao but to see proof of good work done by countless young children, young adults all around the world filled me with this warmth and strength. It’s like Jane says, when someone sees and feels that they can achieve something to have a positive impact it makes it all the more likely for it to happen.

I must say this book has definitely adjusted how I view the climate crisis, where even workers in public health are inherently helping the earth, by providing better access to people and making those adjustments (poverty, water, sanitation etc) it begins the wheel of change that ultimately positively impacts the planet as well!

Jane quite literally is tackling public health here and it’s so awe inspiring and makes me idolize her more to now know she was working in something that I have studied, such as helping women get access to education, sanitary health, etc.

I think it’s so fascinating to think about the adaptability of things like bacteria becoming resistant to antibiotics as someone so used to hearing about it in public health

This is such a refreshing and beautiful book to read at a point in history when hope is really hard to come by. I want to believe in Jane Goodall’s reasons for hope. I realllly do. 🥺
