It’s been an age since I read McDermid. The violence of her early books was too much for me. I’m enjoying this one. The characters are engaging- The writing is smooth. It captures the stress, frustration and fear of COVID times and uses them to enhance the plot.
I think I’ve guessed the final twist of this elaborate plot but I have no idea as to the why of it; which is exactly where I should be at the 80% mark.
