Status Updates From All the Myriad Ways

“Wait it Out” is my favorite story so far in this collection—weirdly grim and hopeful.

"For a Foggy Night" is basically a repeat of "All the Myriad Ways," but I liked this one better. It had more of a human touch.

“Passersby” is one word of those old school SF stories that are basically all S and no F. An alien is telling a human about an encounter with a more advanced alien while neither of them are actually doing anything.

In the first story, "All the Myriad Ways," Niven briefly grapples with the concept of the multiverse and finds it scary in the most existential way.

Ridiculous! Nobody dies for a philosophical point!
