Status Updates From You Like It Darker

A grieving man is given a puppy by his sister and it may have saved his life. He was spiraling with no purpose and through caring for this dog found something to do.
The dog helps him find his friends who was eaten by an alligator

Story 2:
Well, that was horrible.

That first story was off to a slow start ("but there are violins"); and then halfway through, it goes from 0 to 100 in an instant. The ending is very Stephen King and will definitely stick with me.
