Status Updates From Three Bargains

This is my 2nd go at reading this giveaway and I remember why I set this title aside. Set in India, there are so many references of things specific to the culture that I stumble to identify what the author is sharing. No explanation/concessions to a non-native so the nuances may be lost to me.

kurta, pallu, desi tahra, wallah, memsaab, dhaba, channa, beedi, charpai paan, havan, kameez….from just chapters 1&2.

Switched to this for audio instead of the Lisandra book. The story has been okay, the narration is making me feel like I'm sitting on the carpet in circle time having a children's book read to me. He is reading like we are little children that need each word enunciated and slowly read to us. (I'm not having much luck with my audiobooks this week!)
