Fun reread of the first three chapters. Glad I had a book club the first time around, easy to get lost on these ones. Better now knowing whats up so I can study the details - and catch the little jokes.

The wages system is a social form of work indispensable to capitalist production, just as capital, i.e. potentiated value, is an indispensable social form which must be assumed by the material conditions of labor in order for the latter to be wage-labor. Wage-labor is then a necessary condition for the formation of capital and remains the essential prerequisite of capitalist production.
