Status Updates From Jamie MacGillivray

Okay so Jamie is in prison, his brother Dougle might me dead, and Jenny killed a man by bashing his skull in with a rock (rightfully so).

Poor Jenny :( I couldn’t imagine living in a time where I couldn’t read first and foremost. But having people relentlessly fabricate things about you just because they have nothing better to do would be torture. On top of that her mom passing due to the stress of that situation and her own father believing what the gossips say about her is terrible. I couldn’t imagine not resenting your dad in that scenario.

I think this is set in the late 1600s or early 1700s but I believe our main character Jamie is a Scottish Loyalist and his Clan is currently unfortunately getting their butts handed to them by the Brits.

Back and forth between the book and audiobook. I enjoyed Peter Noble as the narrator on other books, such as Vindolanda. I also think this book should’ve been Angus King.
