Quit breaking into people’s homes! My goodness, you’d think with how self-righteous she is when it comes to criticizing people who break the law, she might not see herself as above the law, but she’s breaking into places left and right!

Just a dab of foundation, a touch of mascara, and some brow gel.” First off, Theodosia is definitely a fussy person. And if you’re using foundation, you probably need blush too or else your face will look one-dimensional.

Having characters converse about things (especially when you know that character wouldn’t forget the details, and it’s all for the reader’s benefit) is so cheap. Just show it!

Main reason I read these books is for the menu descriptions and the dreams of having a cutesy little tea shop.

Theodosia is insufferable - lying, withholding evidence, confronting people when the investigation is the job of the police…Riley doesn’t deserve her nonsense.
