send help. to me. and maybe to the author too. why is ying now seducing the prince in a ya book… ?

this book is painfully juvenile, the dialogue feels bereft of warmth and robotic and overall the plot poorly structured. and why do they keep swearing in a way modern people would? they are supposed to be in medieval-imperial china so “damn” “fucking” and “shit” would not be so colloquially used.

I thought this was YA. It's pretty spicy. Not a complaint, exactly. A bit of a surprise.
