this perfect book should be required reading for all students of economics. it's everything i've been searching for. Varoufakis continues to impress me with his lucid writing

Really good introduction. Reminded me of “Talking to My Daughter About the Economy…”, and shows how good of a writer Varoufakis is. Explains clearly the transition from classical to neoclassical economics. Or the killing off of social class. Also contains the best explanation of the concept of “marginalism” that I’ve seen thus far. Probably the best general intro to economics that I’ve read.
