Status Updates From Winding Stair

Hard to put down but today’s a particularly bad news day. We are doomed as a democracy now. I find this work of fiction helps alleviate my anxiety over the Supreme Court of Fascism’s latest outrage.
Sorry.
I’m Blue & I bleed for all Lost Causes. Like Freedom & shit.

Completely engrossing account of a criminal investigation by a young inexperienced investigator teamed with a no nonsense bantam of a Federal Marshal. They’re based out of 1890s Fort Smith, Arkansas and the work involves rounding up outlaw white men along the Indian Nations in the 1890s. Beautifully written with the almost detached feeling of a police procedural. Great stuff!
