Status Updates From The Poems of Schiller

I've completed my first original translation of Schiller's poetry:

Here lies the outline of a fallen oak tree.
The treetop kissed the clouds,
and here it lies on the ground -- why?
The farmers knew, so I listened --
its beautiful wood was needed for building,
and they tore it down because of that.
