Status Updates From Cruzita and the Mariacheros

Cruzita... are you really sure you're doing the right thing? Kelli is being a bad friend, and arguably pretty selfish!

Ooo, a birthday cake, a celebration, this is pretty good! Araceli is a really good friend to Cruzita! And it seems she's getting better with her music. I was a bit surprised we got to see some of her cousins though. I didn't think we'd see them until later. Is it strange that I want a Tres Leches cake now?

Things might be looking up. Slowly. Luckily, Marcos is a very kind teacher, and Araceli and Jaime are pretty kind too. And apparently there's an Encore Island festival in Hollywood and one in Nashville, Tennessee. At least Kelli's a good friend.

Dang.... Cruzita's emotional state is falling apart, along with the family and their bakery. I understand where her mom is coming from, but I think she's being way too harsh on her daughter. Cruzita is trying to help the business in her own way. But what if the bakery can't be saved? Then what?

Well crud. Things aren't going well for poor Cruz. Difficult Spanish tests, to seeing her father bullied for no reason. I feel for her. But if I could, I'd buy a concha from Lupe's Bakery. Out of curiosity, how long is it going to be before the music truly starts? Yet I'm also wondering... where is this story taking place? California? Arizona? Somewhere farther away from Mexico?
