This was still an excellent book and it was as well written as the first one. I enjoyed Max's character development in particular. And I liked "meeting" the new characters who were part of the Nautilus fleet. 😁

The ending was bittersweet and I have a grievance about it, but Pari Thomson wrote what she wanted to write since it was her book. And it's my prerogative to feel sad and bummed about something that she wrote.

Daisy and the Professor had some cute banter that was fun to read.

Rozaliya is a fucking gem for telling Max that he's a part of her family. That was incredibly sweet and touching. 🥰

One of those chapters was a fucking *DOOZY*. Damn. 😮 I'm glad that Napoleon is okay and I'm still gutted that a particular character isn't okay. I'll get over it, but it's okay to feel sad about fiction. And it's more than okay to feel moved by it. That means that the author is doing their job. 😉

Pari Thomson just shattered my heart into fucking pieces. But she stomped on my heart first. Jesus. Fucking. Christ. 😭😭 Not cool!! 😟

Pari Thomson is gifted with writing plot twists. I'm very impressed by the one that I just read.

Her (the author's) villains feel so human and relatable. Even Daisy could understand the villain character's jealousy. Damn!!

I was wrong about Jarndyce potentially kidnapping Daisy. Jarndyce is after Max for a specific reason.

It looks like these meddling kids are up to some Good Trouble. 😉 I hope that Daisy isn't kidnapped by Jarndyce. 🙏 Or is she being used as bait? 😵‍💫

I also agree with the Professor that when a person does their best, it's good enough. 🙂

'But Daisy, if we hadn't tried, then all of those animals would've been killed. You did your best, and sometimes that has to be good enough.'

I love that the Professor said this to Daisy and did her best to reassure Daisy that she wasn't a flop. Or anything close to being one. That was incredibly sweet of the Professor. 😍

It was hard to read about Daisy being so hard on herself at the beginning of the chapter. I could see myself in her during that part. 😟😔

Daisy likely found the traitor in the Nautilus fleet. 😮

It's nice to read about Max feeling like he belongs with the Nautilus fleet, especially since he isolated himself from them at first.
