Status Updates From In Memoriam

haven’t read in like over a week and decided yesterday would be filled with literature. so, i’m back to this masterpiece. i think i’m struggling because i’m simply not in the mood for historical fiction (even with the romantic backdrop), but i want to appreciate the beauty in these words nonetheless.

whew, i’ve cried more times than i care to admit… and i’m not even halfway into the book 😭 for sandy, for maitland, for the young lives lost at the hands of an unnecessary war. for the lovers who’s time got cut short.

only thing keeping me hopeful is knowing ellwood and gaunt will reunite soon
