This installment in the series takes place in the past (1980's Earth time) but inside Monster world for the most part. I can see the threads the author is slowly (emphasis on slowwwwwwwly here) bringing together, but she's taking her sweet time knitting, ya know?
I like all the characters, but the plot is glacial. This book is MUCH better than the previous one, however.
