Status Updates From Uncle Tom's Cabin

One chapter at a time is all I can manage with this book. It's not bad, some parts are poignant and Stowe does a great job of illustrating how there is no such thing as a just master.

Only on chapter 2 and I need to take a break. The vile racism shown in the story is already painful to read. I’ll keep going, because it’s absolutely something we should not close our eyes to, but it’s heart-wrenching to think about the things the shaves went through. To not be seen as a person, but as a thing to be owned and sold at will would be devastating.
