There is a danger in oversimplified history, and it’s the danger of misrepresentation.
This book is definitely an oversimplification, and even I with my limited understanding of Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany can recognise the simplification of the narrative.
You get worried after a while that the whole story is not being told, which inevitably it isn’t.

I’ve always thought that people become susceptible to fascist tendencies because it is easier to be internal and suspicious of others, or perceived outsiders, than to be empathetic, and to listen.
