It started amazing, but I don't like the MMC

This goes in nearly too much detail about the abuse. But it had me locked in. Then she gets away only to be pursued by a man who was more interested in having sex with her than anything else. Just was weird and kinda a turn off. I was hoping for more of an emotional connection but seems the FMC is seen as a sex object by all men.
