I bailed at 50% and read a summary of what happens at the end. Im glad I quit, there are many truly absurd plots in this story and it’s twice as long as the books in the first quartet, so it has been an absolute slog of a read. I love Ellroy but boy he really flipped the switch into the preposterous with the start of this second quartet.
