2🌟. The story structure was not clear. The framework of a flashback or a perspective shift to a mystery character at the beginning some chapters was so off putting and didn’t aid the mystery/suspense plot. It wasn’t a bad book. I think if you like k-dramas and can get past the writing/translation issues and read while listening to remember all the characters, then it’s okay.

There are so many characters and it’s third person omniscient, so I’m lost 30% of the time.

I don’t know if it’s a translation issue or if it’s a writing issue, but one of these things doesn’t feel smooth. It’s just a little flat and rough … but not awful. Visualizing the story like it is a k-drama helps.
