Status Updates From Soviet Science Fiction

"Professor Bern's Awakening" by F. Savchenko contains a "Twilight Zone" worthy twist.

Finished "Infra Draconis" by G. Gurevich, which seemed like a Jules Verne-esc illustration of a theory about black suns and upside down worlds.

"The Martian" by A. Kazantev, references events in previous story. Reads like a pitch for an episode of "The Outer Limits."

"A Visitor from Outer Space" by Alexander Kazantsev. Basically scientists sitting around talking, but very interesting dialogue and theories.

"Spontaneous Reflex" by A. & B. Strugatsky, about a robot that begins to think for itself, primitive AI story of havoc and mayhem.

Introduction is worth the read. "Hoity-Toity" by A. Belayev is a quirky story that seemed to go back and forth between serious and silly. Translation seemed a bit rough in places.
