Status Updates From Faint Promise of Rain

I'm actually reading the full manuscript of Anjali's new novel and I wanted a marker for it as a book I've read this year, so FPoR will have to do double duty until that gem is out in the world. ;-)

Still not that keen on the "head-hopping," but I really like Duva's descriptions of dancing and how they incorporate storytelling. It's more abstract than simply describing the actions, but it imbues so much more emotion and culture and history into each dance.

I like how the story focuses on Adhira's family as a whole, and not just Adhira. Not too crazy about how the POV hops back and forth between Adhira and each chapter's "subject character," though. That's just me, though...
