reo reading nagi hate comments OH MY GOSHSHHHHHHHHHHHH i’m gonna cry. this hurts me HE LOOKS SO SAD.

rin’s play-style is generally a lot more coordinated, rational, and by-the-book. shidou’s play-style is a lot more erratic, unpredictable, and explosive. so i’m excited to see how they clash together.

with rin so desperate to win, is he gonna put aside his differences with shidou and work as a unit with him? they’re for sure the two best players (except maybe charles) so in theory they could work amazingly together. OR is he gonna be so desperate to outdo isagi on his own that he ends up butting heads even MORE with shidou so that he’ll be #1

they’re direct opposites. they just have no chemistry as players at all and they clash BADLY sooooooo seeing them forced to work together is gonna be so interesting. especially bc rin wants more than ANYTHING to surpass isagi. he’s gunning for the win.

there’s an immediate gratification aspect to it as well, which hurts them in the long run. and chris, their coach, needs to acknowledge that & help them.

it’s really just a mind game at this point. reo doesn’t want to let go of what he has with nagi. nagi doesn’t want to let go of what he has with reo. their partnership won’t be in danger at all if they choose to let go and evolve separately for a bit, but they THINK it will be, which is stopping them from evolving on their own. and ironically, this is endangering their partnership more than anything.

if it weren’t for the breakup, i don’t think reo would be THIS opposed to letting go of nagi. not saying he’d be WILLING to do it, but he wouldn’t be this combative of agi. but rn it’s like he just got nagi back and he doesn’t want to let go.

when i said nagi’s scared to let go of reo bc he thinks soccer’s the only thing keeping them together…

i think reo was scared of that for a while, but he’s starting to get over that fear. but for reo i think the issue more so lies in the fact that he JUST got nagi back. he almost lost nagi & it was the worst heartbreak of his life. now he has him back, they’re happy, & now he has to let go again?

anyways, reo & nagi are my two absolute favorites so i’m truly truly hoping for the best for them.

if nagi can understand that reo will STILL be there, and STILL love him, whether he’s successful at soccer or not, maybe nagi can get the strength to let go of reo for now. he can focus on himself as a player, find his own motivation that doesn’t tie him to anybody else, and then come back to reo bc he WANTS to, not bc he needs to.

it’s like what bachira said about isagi. “now that i know i don’t need you to be a great player, it makes it so much more fun when we DO play together.” nagi needs to know that there’s nothing wrong with choosing to play with reo, it’s even better if it’s more fulfilling for him. but when he RELIES on him, it stumps his individual growth.
