the french and italian is so clumsy too, not as bad as the german in the second book but god did she just put all those phrases through google translate? did she just type in each word and piece them together?

ysabeau reads like a bad fanfiction version of herself. why is she being so cryptic? why is she back to being horrible and insensitive about hunting and burning witches at the stake? genuinely who are these characters?

'"I know,” I said, tears streaming down my face. “I just wanted—” “Don’t,” Matthew cried. “God help me. Please. Stop.” “I’m sorry, my love. I only wanted—” I protested. Not another word, Diana."'

'Fresh tears welled up, but I sniffed them away. This was not
the time for me to fall apart or give in to self-pity'

okay i take it all back!!! why would diana be so stupid and reckless in the labyrinth. she was told it's the last test of higher magic- only for advanced witches, she was told it would be between her fears and desire. it all starts with ... but oh no she asks and asks and asks to get things from it like a child in a sweets shop

i admit the memory bottle thing seems random and it seems that the plot for diana to know higher magic is kinda being abandoned but i dont rly mind a lot. it's kinda speeding up the book, but i like the cosy chapters too; the coven, the garden, the tea - daily life. that's what i always wish for, for books to include the happy end

dziwnie jest wrócić po latach do tej serii, bo myślałam że jest to już zamknięta historia.

there's so many small discrepancies that i cannot believe the sam author wrote this book, from the big ones like dianas character - to ysabeu speaking in a strange stilted way. the writing is clunky and weird to read. why would diana tell matthew to keep to the speed limit when he has the kids in the car? a protective vampire protects his own, that includes driving safely. all these small things add up
