Althea fights to leave Archon. Finally Shepard comes and at the expense of his life she escapes. Aurora a precog told her she would watch Archon die but Althea couldn't do it then and heals him enough he will live.

Archon found her and threatened the bums and Shepard. He had a sidekick Anna who is affected by Althea's telempathy. This book is a little too long. I'm about ready for it to be over and I still have 20% more...

Not a fan of the drugs and pimp scenario but the metal man following her life a pup was cute...

Interesting how she tried to get the wealthy people to help her, finally a nice older man stopped but then the Archon's men find her. She escapes back to the organ harvester place where she is captured until a half man half machine guard saves her from his master. I like how nothing is repeated as we follow Althea through this world!

So she makes her way through the city. She separates from the officers when a psionic man like her hijacks one of them. She causes him to go and heals the officers but a battle commences. The nightclub was funny, but I liked the bums particularly Flatline who fried his brain. A man having his organs stolen saps her to loosing consciousness..,

The psionic officers called won't agree to let her go home. They are shocked by her healing ability and how strong a telemth she is. This was a cute dialogue... ahhhhh, I miss Karina and Father too!

Aww I'm so sad - NOOOOOOO NOT KARINA AND FATHER... the super advanced cops though were cool...

So much in 4%! She stops from getting herself kicked out and saves Karina. Then heals a rotting leg!

A little oasis in hell ruined by an entity who visits to try to get Althea to let a certain raider die... loved her ramble about town and all the little happenings!

She helped save a new baby's mother...

She successfully hides from more dirty men scrags by closing her eyes and rolling in muck. A group of blue booted men find her. Karina gives her a bath and is nice! A council will decide if she can stay. Den is looking for her desperate as if he doesn't find her he will have to wed Braga.

I hope the dog man would help her at some point, yay! She sent out a mental distress call and he came... the slaver for Freddy shouldn't have stopped overnight...

She heals the cybernetic dog so he leaves her (I was hoping he'd be like a real dog and stay and protect)... 3 slaves find her but are immediately eliminated by Freddie's henchman. This is a hard world for this little girl...

So the hermit returns and puts handcuffs on her. He eats people and plans to wife her. The ghost woman phantasm visits again. Althea does not like her but learns she is a psionic who the sentience over the badlands wants her power. The woman is sending friends...

The girls are attacked by some men and Althea uses her ability so the woman can attack them This nets them clothes. Zhar insists on taking Althea off to her city in a mine shaft so Althea sneaks away. Rachel killing those men sickened her so while reluctant Althea leaves. She finds an odd patch of woods where a robot wants to kill her and is chased into someone else's hiddy hole by a robotic dog thing.

A revolt by the raiders kills the chief and the woman convince Althea to free them (pretty exciting!) in the desert they fight 3 millipedes (stealing our idea!) which was a cool battle! Rachel breaks her thumbs to get free of the handcuffs! We learn of Reed the man who taught Althea about food and survival. This is pretty cool...

Althea is an odd girl. A crazy woman comes to free her while she's healing the slaves and she won't go. She lets the slaves go without her so the raiders won't chase them. Loved the necklace vision about Den and how the rival girl set the raiders on her so Den would have to wife her.

Althea commands the chief not to rape Rachel. It scares her because if word gets around those who take her will be more prone to hurt or kill her.

I was caught up in this story right off. I really like Althea's narrative style. Her philosophy to just go with the flow makes total sense to me. The way thing are described is also very good if dense. I really like Den and his simple love for Althea. He fought to protect her and is seriously wounded twice. The big question is will she be able to get back to Den?!
