Status Updates From The Dark Victorian: Bones

I spend a lot of time figuring out the archaic English in this book, and I'm loving it. Sentences like: “’Twas,” Art said. “Hard and fast, did she drive her weapon. She hit my crucial marks many times. I was nearly insensate from it.” Beautiful!

I've found this *much* better than book 1, Risen. I wished I could have made more progress but I was slammed at work.

Having a second go at it and this time reading out loud for my book club buddy D. Oh what fun we have! :-) So many great new characters are introduced in this book. We also learn much more about what makes Art tick.

Much slower going than the first, but still pretty good

Well, this was a disappointment.

I almost wish someone killed Artifice.

Please, book, do tell me everything. Someone should have cut this story a bit.

Well, the bobbies are more than conveniently stupid.

Art's thee, thy, thine worked better in the first, shorter book.
