STATIC V. DYNAMIC: In the first 56 pages, Greg Heffley is a static character because he refuses to change his behavior. While Rowley is a dynamic character who is beginning to mature. On page 18, Greg shows that "The problem with Rowley is that he's is not very good at making new friends, so I'm going to have to do the work for him" This proves how Greg is still the person he was in previous books.

Making Connections: I connected Dairy of a Wimpy kid to 'The Outsiders'. I connected these books due to their protagonists. The protagonist of DWK is Greg Heffley a kid who is about 12 and is figuring out life; just like Ponyboy (The Protagonist) of The Outsider who is 14 and is also figuring out life, slowly maturing into a young man. This shows how the 2 are connected.

Sup Character: Rowly Jefferson is Greg's ex best friend & serves as Greg's (The protagonists) greatest bane. I say this because Greg always watches Rowly in envy throughout the story for example Greg says pg 8 "The thing that really burns me..." He looks at Rowly with envy because he realizes how much fun Rowly is having while he is miserable without him. This is why Rowly is the sup character of the story.
