i was really into the plot, but then they gave away the freaking mystery. too many details, they damn near spelled it out! and why do they all talk to themselves?? its almost like they’re breaking the fourth wall, it’s gotten annoying. but i still like the book! it’s got charm. it’s also got a lot of white people bullshit, but i suspect it’s just good characterization.

super fun and interesting! like always, i found the teenage characters to be somewhat annoying. especially the goth kid. i guess i just never have much sympathy for goth white guys. i cringed at the bullying scene. honestly, i’m mostly here for the vampires. excited to find out more!
