Status Updates From The Freeze-Frame Revolution

I absolutely love Peter Watts writing. I finally finished this novella. I have also read all the other short stories in the Sunflower universe. I wish he would write more.

There’s a section at the end of this book that I don’t fully understand what it’s referring to, perhaps a very much smarter AI than what’s been present during that previous part of the book. I’m going to reread this section.

All I keep thinking is how I would never be able to pull this off. I can’t not run my mouth. My ass would get got.

“After that we were passing through the Paleolithic. 5,000 gates built, only 300 requiring meat on deck. And we’d barely finished our first circuit of the Milky Way…I gave up after Australopithecus.”

I had to pause this audio book at a minute in so I could laugh and take a breath. Whoever this character is, I love them. The narration is great too.
