I complained too soon! This recipe also calls for caramel. That's got dairy in it, lads. Not a word about how to make your own dairy-free caramel. This book is inexcusably lazy.

Many of these recipes call for dairy-free sweetened condensed milk, which isn't exactly easy to find in the store, and even harder to find if you need/want to avoid coconut. You can make it yourself, but she doesn't bother to include a recipe.

Kind of suspicious about this lady's qualifications to publish a cookbook. She's already said you can't make yeasted doughs ahead and put them in the fridge—except you can, putting them in overnight to proof—and then she talks about cutting cold butter into quick breads. That's called a biscuit.
