Status Updates From Clockwork Tangerine

This is such a sweet audiobook. I wanted to complete it in one go, but alas sleep beckoned.

Also, how does it make any sense to call your city St. Francisco? If you really think the name needs to be anglicized, I hear St. Francis is pretty popular.

Oh, so they killed 200 people to try to overthrow the empire? And how many do you think the empire's killed to become and stay an empire?

Yeah, of course it's the people trying to destroy the empire who are the monsters here. *eyeroll*

Day Three. Still haven't finished. Why am I nursing this? *shrugs*

Story is still good and this time Sterek and Steter were not to blame.

But the few hundred words of this book isn't bad...so far. It's full of words. Yeah.

Tasty morsel of M/M set in the future or past, following the abuse of a scientists work. Said scientist is now reviled. Truth is unraveled; love grows. Short and sweet story.

Oh, this book is simply wonderful! The setting is intriguing, the dialogue sublime.

Kinda boring for the moment

The last paragraph of the dedication is great. I cannot know how much more Alan Turing would have given us, but I can speculate and it's a lot what we have lost for his premature death, one more victim of prejudice, the fear to what's different (don't both actually go hand in hand?) and of the sentence against everything that not fit in heteronormativity.

Ok. Some creative bits, some good bits, one hot bit and that was it.

It's always strange to me when an author decides to jump ahead in time when it means skipping two characters getting to know each other. All of a sudden they are bonded, maybe even in love, but I as the reader have lost out in being able to make that same bond with them - I don't know what they know and it dampens the impact, the attraction. Jump time but don't skip the important stuff.

Enjoyed it.

Ok well, this has gotten better. Although, it's reminding me of a short with similarities that was more clever, sly, with impact. Vee shall see... vee shall see.
