3. 5 ⭐️! I never would have picked this book in a million years...it doesn’t have a cover I’m drawn too and it’s a Romance, but I needed it for a book challenge.

It was actually a fun and refreshing change from my normal thriller/suspense reads! I guess you can’t always judge a book by its cover. It’s a quick and amusing read that I’d recommend to anyone who enjoys Romance.

Nearly finished - whew! Book just got boring for me that I ended up reading other books. Got back into it and now skimming to get to the end. I just want to finish it even though I’m not really enjoying it. The book started with a lot of promise and I was really looking forward to it, but somehow the book got too tedious with passages that felt like info-dump...Will write longer review.

I like the writing but I'm side-eyeing Perez for stuffing this book with stereotypes about bw. I'm 35 pages in and so far we have the "ghetto queen" (her label, not mine), the irrationally angry black woman (I believe Perez used the name "Sister-Gurl" to describe this woman, who btw is supposed to be the MCs best friend) and the crazy religious bw. The only bw who are portrayed normal/neutral are in the MCs family...

These two have so much attraction go each other.

"This woman is going to be the death of me" cliche.

Exes are the worst. Got it. Glad to see we aren't breaking away from the old cliches.

On to book three. Again, Patrick and Chloe have kissed. Again, things have gone from "let's do this" to "I don't know WHAT we're doing." I wish this back and forth would quit. Go after who you want already.

Crystal is angry at Chloe because Crystal is being dumb and Chloe is calling her on it. How about you reserve that anger for the absentee father of your child instead of spreading your legs for him? Dumbass.

Their strictly platonic relationship didn't last long.
