This novel caught me entirely by surprise. It grows on you like leaves in a vine and tangles you in until you can't escape, you have to finish it because the story grips and tightens on you without mercy.

I am so surprised that this is spending as many pages on the backstory as it is. Pleasantly surprised, because I really like domestic stuff, but really not what I expected.
