all you folks who liked the trauma porn of A Little Life will surely be very excited to read chapter 2 of this book which discusses experiments on animals

Chapter 1 done
It focuses one two things. Speciesism and how that contributes to the animal experimentation from the early 20th century to today.
Some pretty harrowing, despite Singer's attempts to not go into gory detail, descriptions of real experiments done on animals. All of which produced findings that where effectively useless to us as a species. Examples which are the norm, not the exception.

Difficult to read how much pain we have caused. We hoomans really suck ass.
