Fun to have had that scene of Chizuko defending Chi-chan from the very same thing she had implied, with smiling unnoticed prejudice, a mere few pages before

I’m reading the Chinese and translated English versions simultaneously. Appalled to find out that the English version has omitted chunks of information (actual paragraphs of content! Not just footnotes) that the Chinese version contains, at least in the preface bits that I’ve just read. So far so good though, we shall see how this goes
