One of my favorite moments of this novel is near the beginning when Dr. Maracot waves away concerns about being crushed by the pressures of the deep ocean. There wouldn’t be a novel if he was worried about things like physics.
He and his two companions drop into the depths of their bathysphere and find Atlantis.
It’s a fun little adventure that veers into Lovecraftian horror near the end.
