Carpentier is my main character and he is black when it is a time were black boxers can not win he just lost the champion fight but because hes black they didn't give it to him and he lost but right know he is trying to fight his way up the ranks again to get that champion fight.

The over all conflict is about race and how everything is divided between whites and black. Right know there is a black guy fighting for the heavy weight title in boxing for the first time and the judges are white and there going to vote for the white guy even thought he has been losing the whole fight.

Right now the boxers are in the seventh round and its a black vs white fighter so everybody is wanting the white guy win because its the 1930 and the black weren't liked by everybody but the black has been winning the whole fight
