Status Updates From Divided

“Hey.” I said, sorrow in my voice.
“What’s wrong, you sound sad. Did you and Ryan have a fight about who loves each other more?”

Please just stay. We’ll get through this. I promise.” His eyes glassed over and a bit of my heart broke. Once again I cursed my heart for loving this man more than I loved myself. My eyes filled with tears just looking at him.
“Ok.” I said as I strolled away. “I’ll stay, but.. just.. give me some time.”

“Thanks, I’m glad you think so because you’re never getting them back. These have become my permanent pajamas”
“I have no problem with my clothes being wrapped around you all night.” His voice smooth.

I rubbed my hand over his heart.I knew that the wall that I had created to block everyone out was crumbling.I had allowed Ryan into my heart the way I never let anyone in before.He was becoming a part of me.At first it was hard for me to admit it but now I could see it crystal clear.
When I first met him, the look in his eyes, was as if I was looking deep into his soul and recognizing who I was on the other side

“How about a friendly wager?” He suggested as he was setting up the rack.
“What do you have in mind? I’m not playing strip pool!” I said trying to sound flirtatious from the other side of the table.
“If I win, you have to hang out with me for the rest of your stay.” He said pulling the balls out. Perfect! Now I'm losing on purpose. I didn’t know how much more of Grand Forks I could take on my own.

“What are you doing?” I managed.
His expression was nothing short of ferocious, and if his gaze grew any hotter, I’d burn beneath it.
“You’ve never had angry sex. I’m about to show you what you’ve been missing.”

“No one feels like you do, so every brush of your skin is a cruel reminder of what I’ve lost. I can barely stand the sight of you because you’re more beautiful than I’ve allowed myself to remember, and when I cut that wire off Maximus and smelled you all over him, I wanted to kill him more than I’ve wanted to kill anyone in my life, yet I couldn’t because of my promise to you.”

“I’m not usually such an asshole, When I saw you in the bar downstairs I was really pissed, if that’s even possible. I was just, I don’t know, angry.” Ryan paused for a second rubbing both hands through his hair. “Mostly just disappointed. I know I’m not really making much sense, but I can’t help but be mad at you.”
I was shocked by what he was telling me. “How can you be mad at me? You don’t even know me.”

Their pet names are silly....and not in a cute way.....another book I need to skim through and finish

This book is written in first person.....I don't like it.

"I don't want someone to sweep me off my feet if he isn't going to be there to catch me when I fall."
