Status Updates From The Unfinished

It’s gotten slower, but I’m okay with slow horror. Might have to put it down for a bit, it’s messing with my paranoia I think

While some of the action-based scenes are a little tricky to follow, this book has some incredible terror in normalcy. Hanging out with friends, missing your parents, worrying about school, all slowly distort into this calm before the storm.
That’s enough to save the slight issues with the action in my biased opinion as a domestic horror enthusiast

Two days in and people are going missing

Two chapters in and I’m already hooked. I love Avery’s narrative voice, I love the cultural elements, I love the mix of horror and normalcy creating this perfect tension. This book has so much potential, I can already feel it’s about to knock it out of the park for me

The prose is a lot but the vibes are immaculate :)
