I think it’s pretty strong to have a hero who rather than having to learn that his evil upbringing is in fact evil, instead truly wants to believe that there’s good in his people. He’s smart, he knows he’s being lied to, but god he wants it to be true!!! Maybe it’s one dimensional but he’s a really good hero archetype .. also they introduced his pet panther and he gets so sad when he cant hang out w it aw

Ok I was gonna complain about how I feel like drizzts characterization is all over the place but then he got beat and phychologically tortured like 5 times in 40 pages and he’s like 5’3 and 2 apples tall and and and um um um um um

Brilliant opening 2 chapters. Does a fantastic job of pulling you into the world of the Underdark.
