Nassau is as to make complicated religious concepts simple enough to grasp. He gives a sense of the main points of the religion and the way it has influenced the regional culture without overwhelming the reader with enormous lists of gods and over-detailed analyses.

I'm reading this out of order, but so far I've read the sections on Confucianism, Hinduism, and Theraveda Buddhism. I definitely recommend this book to those who are learning about these religions for the first time. Nadeau does an excellent job of making concepts clear and simplifying things for Western readers.
