Status Updates From Vermilion Flames: Midnight ...

Finished this today. There was a lot packed into the final two chapters and it was a little bit of a struggle to keep up. Overall, I enjoyed this, but I'm not sure where it will land as far as a star-rating goes. I'll need to let it sit with me a little. There were some highs and some lows here, so I need to figure out how that all balances out.

Things have definitely been getting more interesting and I'm glad the school trope portion was short lived. I'm curious to see where the various mysteries and conspiracies lead, but am also a little worried that we won't get many satisfying answers as this is just the first book in a series and having a cliffhanger ending is seeming somewhat likely with only a few hours left in the book.

This has been an interesting one so far. It's kind of an unusual combination of a YA School Setting filled with rebellion and conspiracy and an Adult Military Fantasy. I'm definitely much more invested in the latter (mostly because that's more what I was expecting), but I'm intrigued to see where things go. The Theophobia has been a little bit much for me though and I'm hoping some things about the world get answered
