“Insulate ourselves from the shame of others by repeating the affirmation, “I do not claim other people’s embarrassment as my own“… Don’t remove the long, gushing caption and replace it with “photo dump. “ Slowly, we realize it’s absolutely absurd that everyone else isn’t walking around passionately delighting in the miracle of life and the things they love.”

When you pause to notice the anger, as something in front of you, instead of…allowing it to make you say things you don’t mean, or act out irrationally, you open a gap between you and the anger and create a magical little portal where infinite possibilities of how you can respond present themselves. This “looking“ and witnessing is the beginning of allowing the emotion to pass through you, not become you.
