the descriptions of middle platonism’s influence on / intersections w gnostic heresies were cool.

note to self: agonistic rhetorical styles were de rigueur in the ancient world!

This first chapter left me worried this would be dull but instead she includes cringe inducing quips like a cringe tweeting gen x-er ugh. i know it is nitpick-y but I hate stuff like that.
