Status Updates From Christendom Destroyed: Euro...

Absolutely hilarious that the arguably most famous Defenestration of Prague began with the phrase "Now let us throw them out the window, as is customary."

I just keep getting hit with "Same as it ever is" while reading this. Calling political enemies agents of the anti-christ in 1612 and 2026.

Greengrass is so funny. Just doing a little parenthetical aside listing people executed for treason and amending the cause of death as "ditto".

Absolutely crazy that the Dutch were so morally bankrupt that pirates were able to stop in Dutch ports with ships they captured from the Dutch being crewed by the enslaved Dutch sailors. All for the money🫰

"There is no paradise for cowards." is hilarious as a motivational speech.

"Jesuit Fransisco Cabral was reluctant to go into theological details with his Japanese neophytes lest they became experts and created heresies." LMAO skill issue. "What if the people I'm preaching to on my missionary trip get better at religion than me ( ≧Д≦)"

I gotta do more research on the history of the separation of church and state. What do you mean the protestant reformation normalized civic courts? There has to be a prior example.

Really like the phrase "communal mechanisms of repair"

"[Alonso de Nájera's] solution: a line of forts, a permanent army, the extermination of the local Indians and their replacement by more quiescent Africans." Shit man imagine rebelling so well the Spaniards give up on trying to enslave you.
