There’s a certain way men wrote, especially in the 70s-80s, that just irks me to my core. It’s the hard-boiled, machismo, consistent-innuendo-dropping prose that makes my eyeballs roll into the back of my head. Sticking with it for now but already annoyed at 30 pgs in
