WoW! How outdated this account of betrayal and arrogance is! Lacking completely in any form of reflection or larger consciousness. Yet it is interesting, because one can completely forget all nostalgia of bygone times.

The first story or "tale" finds the reader as onlooker on the war theatre of wedded bliss and adultery. It is all so funny and exciting until it isn't. The morality of bygone times but also the disdain for women in general is disturbing. Plus the touchy subject of ethnicity, of priviledge. The author and her protagonists are unaware of those, or perhaps simply instinctively managing those,
