One morning I woke after Bethy had gone out to market to feel the warmth of Anne's hand down the front of my pants. It's an inexplicable thing the way a woman's hand, mor and vario no matter how callused by labor, can form itself to such care as to imitate her organ. As I blinked awake she worked me, leaning over so that her nose tip rubbed along the ridge of my own nostril.

Two blinding flashes: first my lantern flying off the horse's bridle and past my face, another as a thunderstrike-a hoof blow-exploding against the back of my head, accompanied by a dagger-like scrape dragging along my neck as my body careened forward before crashing face first into a wall of iris black.
My horse bayed horribly in the black, a toothy death wail.

...like boiled herbs. It stirred me as much as it disgusted me.

The girls rounded the firepit to be beside Jeremy and myself, kneeling on the ground before us so that their bare thighs were exposed by their short doe-skin skirts. They smiled expectantly; the middle-teen who sat by Jeremy even giggled. My head spun and I nearly called out Bethy's name, for the girls were each in her exact image. I could smell their unconcealed womanhood through their spread skirts, a deep stink...

Finally the chief emerged. The brute stooped as his broad black bearded face greeted us, one eye missing so that the lid drooped shut in a miserable wince. He wore a deer hide jerkin and kilt, a cavalry saber at his hip and about his neck a military uniform collar which, having shed its shirt, hung like a necklace.

"They're long gone, Captain."
"But what the hell were they doing?" I swallowed, forcing my voice lower. "Eating their own children?"
"I can't imagine that's possible, there were at most five wigwams here-twenty people at the most, and not here for long."
"Then what the hell happened?"

After we had finished she fell down beside me, flushed beet red down to the collarbone.

There was no thought in what I did next. Both of my hands found her, gripping her delicate arms just as she grabbed at my collar and our mouths found each other.
She pushed me back onto the bed and straddled me. Her hair passed back and forth like a paintbrush over my forehead as she labored in ecstasy atop me, all the while the creaking frame startled the chickens who began clucking incessantly through the thin...
